Jersey Community High School music students recently participated in the annual IHSA (Illinois High School Association) Solo and Ensemble Contest at Carlinville High School March 6.

Students are judged in several performance categories and receive ratings ranging from superior to good.

Instrumentalists who received a superior rating for their solos were: Elise Scannell, Alto Sax, Jordan Helderman, Trombone, David Cory, Tenor Sax, Emily Evans, Piano, Sadie McAdams, Piano, Amy Straub, Flute, Cassie Kallall, Flute

Dane Manns, Snare Drum, Justin Kuehnel, Trumpet, Austin Meyer, Tenor Sax.

Instrumentalists who received an excellent rating for their solos were: Brennen Hermens, Alto Sax, Killian Walsh, Piano, Jenna Eschbach, Trumpet, Austin Myers, Horn, Nick Yates, Horn, Jensen Linder, Trumpet.

Instrumentalists who receive superior ratings for their ensembles were: Brennen Hermens, Elise Scannell, Austin Meyer and David Cory, Sax Quartet, Austin Meyer, Elise Scannell, Sax Duet, Killian Walsh, Allison Brown, Keyboard Percussion Duet, Travis Trisler, Dane Manns, Sydney Reynolds and Haley Disterhoft, Percussion Quartet, Austin Myers, Nick Yates, Horn Duet, Jim Gorman, Brittany Christopher, Clarinet Duet, Nick Miller, Brett Sitzmore, Jordan Summers, Sax Trio.

Marissa Edwards, Cassie Kallall received an excellent for their flute duet.
