The Jersey County Leadership In Action class recently completed the 2009 recently completed the 2009 10-month academy and held its graduation. The Jersey County Business Association (JCBA), in cooperation with the U of I Extension, offers this program which assists each participant in acquiring a broader understanding of the issues facing Jersey County. It also offers the opportunity to build relationships to facilitate collaborative efforts in resolving the challenges of today and tomorrow. A different topic is covered each month providing perspectives from local, regional and state recognized experts about their experiences in political, social, cultural and economic facets of the area. This course stimulates participant awareness of the Jersey County area, its challenges and opportunities by examining patters of life in the county. 15 local participants graduated from the program October 8 with a ceremony at Westlake Country Club. Those participants were, standing from the left, Lynn Welling, Patricia Mossman, Shane DeSherlia, Christy Smay, Lisa Schuenke, Matt Eschbach and Jim Hoefert; seated, Rebecca Droege, Michelle Brown, Jill Plato, Judy Schlafer and Justin Goetten. Missing was Janice Richardson, Stephanie Beemer and Jo Ann Garland.
